Annoyances

So I am sitting in the Calgary airport on a 90 minute delay which probably means I'll miss my connecting flight to NY.

There is free wireless though! Here's what you get if you try to access Facebook or Twitter.

Can you say arrogant?! How dare a public airport block me from accessing some of the biggest sites on the web like it's porn or something?

I am furious that besides a delay I can't access tools that might make the delay bearable. There isn't even the execrable CNN airport channel in the sensory deprivation chamber this airpoprt calls a boarding lounge!

Oh well. It is better than Philly where you can't sign on to their paid wireless unless you can produce a valid Zip Code for your credit card. Now figure it out - this is an INTERNATIONAL airport. Only Americans have 5 digit zip codes. Therefore you can't buy the wireless with a Visa, Amex or MC unless you're American...!

Brilliantly ethnocentric. Appalling insensitive. And bad business to boot.

Anyway, since I can't access Facebook or Twitter I'll have to blog bad wireless filters at YYC.
