Sandra Day O?Connor College of Law Holiday Food Drive

By Kerry Skinner

ADVERTISEMENTS

December 2nd through December 22nd

To celebrate the holidays, the Ross-Blakley Law Library is helping the community by organizing a food drive.   Please help us with our Holiday Food Drive by donating food or money to United Food Bank.

There are three food bins set up at the College?one at the Library and two at the College.  A list of the foods most needed is posted above each bin.

Monetary donations to United Food Bank are also much appreciated.  United Food Bank is able to piggyback food orders with the grocery stores to maximize how the money is spent and stock up on those items needed most.

Should you like to donate money, please give a check to Kerry Skinner, Law Lib Room 109A (480-965-4872) or donate directly to United Food Bank online. Make checks out to United Food Bank.  Please do not place monetary donations in the food bins.

Information from United Food Bank regarding monetary donations:

·         $1.00 donated to United Food Bank has a multiplier effect of 10.67!
·         Due to economies of scale, operating efficiencies, and generous in-kind donations, United Food Bank can distribute $10.67 worth of food for every $1 operating expenses!
·         $25: Provides 138 Children with a nutritious Kids Cafe evening meal!
·         $50: A family receives food for three weeks!
·         $100: Feeds an elderly couple for 3 months!
·         $500: Distributes over 2,750 emergency meals!!!

Because United Food Bank helps the working poor, your monetary contribution may qualify as a tax CREDIT on your Arizona tax return - $200 for single taxpayers; $400 for married taxpayers. Please check with your tax advisor.
