Strange Sights

I was getting on the bus home today, and an Orthodox Jewish man, wearing a white shirt, black pants and jacket, and sporting a healthy beard, stumbled aboard behind me. Yes, stumbled. The hair under his yarmulke was a little messy, his eyes were bright, and he was clutching a half-full white wine bottle in his hand. I thought, well, you don't see that every day.

Then I was walking from the bus stop to the supermarket to pick up carrots for the huge pot of sopa de fideo I just made, and Dan called and told me to look at the moon. There were two winking little jewels of lights hanging off to its right. As you might have seen yourself tonight, they were Venus and Jupiter. The city lights drown out all stars on a normal night, so it was something to see exactly two - except they weren't stars at all, but worlds.

Strange things are afoot. I am keeping watch for shoes on the wall.
