ADVERTISEMENTS
...I would have posted copiously this week on the following subjects.- This interview about Obama's faith, from 2004 but just released in its entirety. I've never been an Obama true believer, but this interview sways me a little in that direction. One quote:
I'm not somebody who is always comfortable with language that implies I've got a monopoly on the truth, or that my faith is automatically transferable to others. . . . I think that religion at its best comes with a big dose of doubt. I'm suspicious of too much certainty in the pursuit of understanding just because I think people are limited in their understanding.
To me, nothing inspires faith like a little doubt. - This WSJ article about atheists organizing. I probably could have gotten a week's worth of posts out of this and the Obama interview combined, if I didn't have four papers to write in the next two weeks. Maybe I'll get back to it later.
- Juan Doria, the guy who wrote The Slacker's Guide to Law School (which I reviewed earlier this year), has a new blog: Law School Memories.
- K update: His most requested activity these days is "KEE AYU," in which I pretend I can't find him and go around the room looking under pot lids and in baskets, calling, "K, where are you?" I tried to teach him to play hide and seek after noting his interest in this game, but he couldn't quite get it. He would close his eyes or count to ten but not both. When I closed my eyes I could hear him running around, but as soon as I got to ten and opened my eyes, he would run straight back to me.
He is also drumming on any available surface, whenever he gets anything resembling sticks, and can actually bang out a pretty good rhythm.
- The preschool search. It lurks in the back of my mind, yet one more thing that needs to be taken care of at the same time as everything else. We haven't made a decision yet.
- One good thing about not having time to blog: You were spared a rant about people who have newly acquired a Blackberry and are now incapable of maintaining eye contact because they keep glancing down to see if someone more important is trying to get them. Short version: PUT IT AWAY, PEOPLE. The world will survive without you for three minutes.
And now back to my final weeks of law school. (And bed.)

Cipro
The FDA is seeking to add black box warnings of the risk of tendon rupture associated with Cipro and Levaquin.
The ruptures can involve Achilles tendon, shoulder, hand, bicep or thumb tendons, and is especially increased in patients older than 60, or people who have received kidney, heart or lung transplants, as well as people on steroid therapy...
