Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder?It starts with something simple. Someone tells me they are taking a child somewhere large, crowded and usually urban. To a zoo or a Wollman Rink in Central Park. Or to an amusement park. Or sometimes a combination of several, like this weekend when my parents told me they were taking my two nieces and my nephew to Coney Island. The math is simple ? two adults, three children. That?s only two adults to run after three children who tend to run, as three children do, in three different directions.I start to get the shakes. My eyes well up with tears. I want to tell my parents not to take the kids ? there are too many kids and too few of them, it?s crowded at Coney Island. I suppress this urge to a degree. I know I?m damaged, that all those years of prosecuting child abusers has made my tolerance for taking children to normal, fun places, like beaches and playgrounds, very low...continue to full post
