: The Trial Technologist's ViewDo you know Solosez?
By Blake Boyd
Over at MyShingle.com there is a great post by Carolyn Elefant regarding the largest Solo Practitioner based listserv, “Solosez“. If you are not a member of this list I highly suggest subscribing, the wealth of information that is passed on a daily basis is incredible. The members are generally kind and are normally quick to answer any question you may have.
If you don’t know what a listserv is, I think webopedia.com has a pretty good basic definition:
An automatic mailing list server developed by Eric Thomas for BITNET in 1986. When e-mail is addressed to a LISTSERV mailing list, it is automatically broadcast to everyone on the list. The result is similar to a newsgroup or forum, except that the messages are transmitted as e-mail and are therefore available only to individuals on the list.
In essence, it’s an email bulletin board that has thousands of people walking by everyday responding to a question you thumb-tacked up. It really does work well. But is somewhat hard to get the hang of, and Carolyn has the basics answered for you in her post. Check it out and Join.
