Calls for Papers

By Anne Skove, Esq.

ADVERTISEMENTS

  • Incomparable Research Twin Nancy Welsh of Indisputably (the ADR law prof blog) posted information about submissions to the first International Mediation Leadership Summit. The Summit takes place October 31, 2008 (Friday! Halloween!) The group seeks both practice-oriented and scholarly articles, to be published in different venues. Deadline for submission is January 31, 2009, which is much closer than it seems.

  • AALL/Lexis seeks papers from active and retired AALL members with 5 years' professional service (due March 2, 2009); new AALL members/recent grads (also due March 2, 2009); and students (who need not be AALL members). Those in the student category get a break: their papers are not due until April 15, 2009. See AALL/LexisNexis Call for Papers, Law Librarian Blog (October 8, 2008).

  • The Freedom Center Journal (the scholarly publication of the Underground Railroad Freedom Center and University of Cincinnati College of Law) seeks papers on all facets of immigration/migration, "including, but not limited to, the impact of gender, race, class, and sexuality on the immigrant experience; examination of the reasons certain people migrate to certain places; examination and discussion of current immigration laws in the United States; historical analyses of particular migrant patterns; and modern day slavery and its connection to migration." Abstracts are due December 1, 2008. Immigration Prof Blog has further information, or see the FCJ site itself.

  • OK, here's the requisite techie announcement: the Workshop on Legislative XML 2008 seeks papers. The conference meets December 10, 2008, in Florence, Italy (not to be confused with Florence, Kentucky, where we will more likely be). Papers must be submitted by November 16. See the call for papers.
