: ACS BlogACS Promotes Proposals For Reforming Legal, Justice Polices In a New Administration
ACS recently hosted a panel discussion on more than a dozen proposals for reforming legal and justice policies in a
new administration. The proposals are from an array of authors, including Sen. Edward Kennedy, (D-Mass.), former Attorney General Janet Reno, former Sen. Timothy Wirth (D-Colo.), Sally Katzen, former deputy director of the Office of Budget Management and Budget (OMB), and Deborah Pearlstein, a Princeton University visiting professor. The panel of experts, moderated by Ron Klain, former chief of staff and counselor to Vice President Al Gore, included William Yeomans, chief counsel to Sen. Kennedy, Stanford law professor Mariano-Florentino Cuéllar, Katzen and Pearlstein. Video of the panel discussion, conducted at the National Press Club, and a Web page containing all of the proposals. U.S. Rep. Donna Edwards (D-Md.), top right, provided introductory remarks.
