: Kentucky Law BlogELECTIONS: Judicial candidate Katie King in the news and blogs
By Michael Stevens
The Jefferson County District Court Judicial race between Katie King and Judge David Holton will most certainly go down as one of the most "unusual" judicial elections in years.
- The "race" started off in the primary with more candidates than the Kentucky Derby and without the use of the auxiliary gate.
- Then, Kentucky had a "first" with the appointment of David Holton to sit pending the election.
- Then, Katie's father, Jim King who sits on the Louisville Metro Council, raises an ethics flag regarding his email in support of his daughter.
- Then, with a well-funded campaign, Katie King, with just the minimum number of years to file to run, garnered the most votes to make it to the general election.
And, now there are a series of stories in the news about Katie King and a former boyfriend and events from her college days.
