ADVERTISEMENTS
If you find this week's Blawg Review #180 for German-American Day lacking musical accompaniment, we recommend Pachelbel's Canon in D.Although the composer of Canon in D, Johann Pachelbel, was not, himself, a German-American, his son Charles Theodore Pachelbel, a German composer, organist and harpsichordist of the late Baroque era, was one of the first European composers to take up residence in the American colonies, and was, quite possibly, the most famous musical figure in early Charleston, South Carolina.
So, you can see why this piece came to mind immediately when I read Blawg Review #180 on German-American Day.
