False "friends"

ADVERTISEMENTS
The "friend".

I'm sort of hating her right now. Maybe resenting is a better word. Yet again tonight I have not been invited along, but three of my friends have. This time, for the first time, I noticed how deliberately she throws it in my face. Constantly talking about everyone else who's invited (about 8 or 10 people), saying "oh, I'm forgetting someone.... hold on... who am I forgetting...oh yeah, Eric!" right in front of me, throwing in "oh, I have to give you your invitation", etc. And as always, it's always about her--the center of attention.

I know I should be the bigger person, but every time she hangs out with friends of mine and doesn't invite me (which is just about every weekend), it hurts. How the hell do you deal with that in a mature way?

I really wish I had never met her, and that I never introduced my friends to her.
