Wolverine Dreams

ADVERTISEMENTS

Sometimes dreams do come true!  Would-be lawyers who quake in fear of standardized tests and had the foresight to attend the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor will be permitted to apply to the University of Michigan's law school without taking the LSAT.  Wolverines with GPA's of 3.8 and above are eligible for admission under the Wolverine Scholars program.  The law school has taken some flak from critics who view this as "gaming the system," an attempt to enhance the school's ranking by omitting less than stellar LSAT scores from the averages. The Dean of Admissions points out that since only five to ten students, out of a first-year class of 360, are being considered for admission as Wolverine Scholars, the effect will be negligible.  Check out the Law Blog at Wall Street Journal.com, for more details.
