Almost half of lawyers think their careers will be hurt by the recent collapse of Lehman Bros. Holdings Inc. and sale of Merrill Lynch & Co. according to a survey by legal recruitment firm Lateral Link.
Of 800 respondents, 42% expressed these concerns (39% in Los Angeles), up from 27% who expressed such thoughts during the government bailout of former Bear Stearns Cos.
Two out of three first year law students were afraid about their careers, according to the survey.
