By Gerry Oginski

ADVERTISEMENTS
Evan Torgan, a New York personal injury attorney has given summations in the case of James McMillen, a passenger on the Staten Island Ferry when it crashed killing multiple people. According to news reports in Newsday, The Post and The Daily News, Mr. McMillen was knocked to the ground at the time of the accident, and when emergency services arrived, he was conscious, but could not understand why he could not move his arms or legs. He remains quadriplegic and will require life-long medical care.

The liability against the City of New York is no longer contested. This is a trial on damages to determine how much to award Mr. McMillen for his lifetime medical care, including nursing and physician care. In addition, McMillen's attorney, Evan Torgan, known for obtaining multi-million dollars verdicts and settlements, is expected to ask for significant compensation for his clients' pain and suffering.
