: Legal Pad | LALerach may go to high-security prison, allegedly offered guard season football tickets
By Jason Siegel
So much for low-security prison life for William Lerach.
Earlier this summer, the former class action attorney was placed in administrative segregation, locked down 23 hours a day, after allegedly offering a prison guard season tickets to NFL games during his second month in prison, The Recorder reported (here).
The Bureau of Prison guidelines takes such offers seriously. It's "one step below the most egregious kinds of violent behavior" on the BOP's four-tier discipline system, The Recorder reported.
If a formal administrative proceeding goes against him - Lerach could be transferred to a higher-security facility and lose any time accumulated towards early release, according to The Recorder. His current release date is listed at March 8, 2010.
