On the Agenda

Congress returns to session today after a four week recess. Mike flew back to Washington twice over the August recess to encourage Speaker Pelosi to allow a vote to lift the ban on drilling off the outer-continental shelf and promote America?s energy independence. Every day more and more Democrats are beginning to see the light on energy independence and are expressing their plan to vote in favor of expanded drilling. Mike is hopeful that the Democrat leadership will allow this vote and is encouraged by the overwhelming support of the American people.

Congress plans to address several critical issues this month including funding the government for the remaining year and passing comprehensive energy legislation. The agenda is packed and with only three weeks before Congress adjourns for the general election it is doubtful that very much will be accomplished. Austin Weatherford- Legislative Assistant to Rep.
