Lieberman is *so* losing his Committee Assignments

ADVERTISEMENTS
You have to admire a guy who puts his career on the line for what he believes. Especially when, electorally, it would be a lot easier to support Obama.

That said, I think it'll be a little difficult for Lieberman supporters to complain when the Democrats strip him of his committee assignments. He can still call himself a Democrat, and support Democratic candidates, but being a member of the party generally entails support for the party's presidential nominee.

If not that, then maybe indifference. If not that, then maybe muted support for the other party's nominee.

If not that, then campaigning with the other party's nominee at select events.

But to do all of those things, come to convention, and then endorse the *ticket,* not just McCain, is a tough pill to swallow. If a GOP Senator did that, I wouldn't be super keen to keep them on their committee assignments.

And the Reid is pissed.
