George Will has a terrific column today on the initiatives to ban racial preference that are attempting to be placed on the ballots of five states next November.

He excoriates (almost as much as they deserve) the Missouri Democrats who have tried ? so far unsuccessfully ? to defeat the initiative there by rewriting it, and he notes the contradiction of ?[a]dvocates of affirmative action? everywhere who ?have long denied that it involves racial preferences? but who now insist ?that a ban on such preferences would eliminate all affirmative action.?
