New Book by Professor Huss

The Law Library has added the following book to the collection:

Animal Law and the Courts: a Reader by Taimie L. Bryant, Rebecca J. Huss and David N. Cassuto.

Rebecca Huss is a Professor at Valparaiso University School of Law and an expert in the growing field of animal law. Prof. Huss' contributions to the book include her article, Issues Relating to Companion Animals and Housing.

According to the introduction, the book discusses the "status of animals as legal property . . , the limitations of current state and federal law to provide . . . protection to animals, and the relationship of cultural attitudes and practices to legal structures. . ."

The book can be found on the "new book display" for several weeks and then in the general collection.
