: Legal Pad | LASheppard Mullin launches video game industry group
By Jason Siegel
Sheppard Mullin launched a video game industry group.
The team will involve 20 attorneys from across the Los Angeles-based firms' eleven offices in their intellectual property, entertainment and media, corporate and labor and employment.
Shawn Foust, an associate at the firm's Century City office, came up with the idea and will lead the group.
"The video game industry deserves a firm that is willing to commit to servicing the full range of unique issues game companies face," Foust said.
Foust is an avid gamer who draws upon "an understanding of games developed through years of playing and studying interactive entertainment," according to a press release.
Sheppard Mullin has recently represented Activision, Aruze, Comcast, Electronic Arts, Game Show Network, Namco Bandi Games America and Zeebo.
Most of the 11 partners in the group are at the firm's Southern California offices:
Century City: Shaun Clark, Bob
Darwell, Brian Pass and Kent Raygor
Del Mar Heights: Bob Gerber
Santa Barbara: Tom Hopkins
Century City associates Bethany Hollister and Oscar Cisneros are also part of the group.
