: Election UpdatesFlorida Update: Jan 24th 2008
By Paul Gronke
Three quick points:
- Republican turnout is beginning to outpace Democratic turnout (as we'd expect).
- Second week turnout rate is leveling off at 20,000 per day for Democrats and 26,000 (and climbing) for GOP.
- Total turnout is nearing 400,000 in-person early voters (NOT absentees), 4% of registered Democrats, 5% of registered Republicans, and an estimated 10% of eventual turnout. (I base this guesstimate on a guesstimated 50% total turnout.)
