: Legal Pad | LAThree charged for federal courthouse bombing in San Diego
By Jason Siegel
Three people were indicted over the bombing of a federal courthouse and a FedEx building in San Diego. (press release)
The 17-count indictment alleges Rachelle Carlock, Ella Louise Sanders and Eric Reginald Robinson were responsible for the bombings. The Edward J. Schwartz Federal Courthouse was bombed early in the morning on May 4 and the FedEx building was bombed early in the morning on April 25. No one was injured.
They could face mandatory life sentences if convicted of using or conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction, the Associated Press reported (here). They're also charged with conspiracy to commit malicious damage and possession of a destructive device.
A federal public defender entered not-guilty pleas on behalf of Robinson to all counts yesterday, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported (here). Arraignments are pending for Carlock and Sanders.
