Your Life as a Transfer Student

By Gordon Smith, Christine, Hurt, Vic Fleischer, Fred Tung, Lisa Fairfax, David Zaring

ADVERTISEMENTS

Orin Kerr at Volokh Conspiracy is asking students who have transferred law schools to talk about their experiences in the comments section to his post.  In particular, if you transferred schools to increase your career opportunities, how did this work for you?

I'm linking to this post because I love transfer students.  This self-selected group is ambitious, proactive, and go-getting (if that's a word).  I know that there are many criticisms of schools that decrease their first-year class for USNWR purposes, then let in a flood of transfers for financial reasons, but I think choosing at least some students based on actual law school performance rather than proxies for potential law school performance has great appeal.  I hope that the stories are great!

That being said, I hate it when our beloved Illinois students transfer away!
