"Tip of the Week" - Make Sure You Take a Vacation

ADVERTISEMENTS

Dsc00014 Now that I am back from mine, a few days in the sun and surf and a few more days pretty much away from the computer but not traveling away( a 'staycation'), I remember why I work for myself....so I CAN take time away when I want.

Don't get so caught up in the idea you CAN'T possibly be untethered from your computer or take a few days away from your practice that you defeat one of your major goals in being your own boss, the freedom to not have to ask permission to take time away.

And please don't replace it with anxiety or guilt that if you do take some time away, the world as you know it will cease to exist. We're just not that important in the work world.  We are, however, very important to our families.  Providing for them isn't just about bringing in the money or being there in an emergency.  It is about family meals, humor, love and pleasurable time together.  They deserve you and you deserve it. Remember that.
