: Expressio UniusWebb Rules Out VP Spot . . . Again
ADVERTISEMENTS
Webb's last statement that he had no interest in the Vice Presidency didn't do the trick. He had to reiterate that lack of interest today:
?Last week I communicated to Senator Obama and his presidential campaign my firm intention to remain in the United States Senate,' said Webb in a statement. "Under no circumstances will I be a candidate for Vice President."
McCain should be happy. A Webb candidacy would have put Virginia in serious jeopardy of flipping blue. It's still a toss-up, but I doubt it will actually cross over into Obama's category unless there's a major sweep/landslide victory that will obviate the need for its electoral votes anyway.
