: Legal Pad | LAL.A. judge Coleman Swart to retire after 26 years
By Jason Siegel
Los Angles Superior Court judge Coleman Swart will retire on Sept.15, after nearly 26 years on the bench, and join ADR Services, Inc.
The 68 year old told the Metropolitan News-Enterprise he's making the change to make more money, since he's reached the maximum level of retirement benefits he can get.
Swart made an unsuccessful challenge to Pasadena Municipal Court Judge John Hassler Jr. in 1976. After becoming head of the D.A.'s office in Pasadena, Swart beat Superior Court Commissioner David Ziskrout for an open seat by 15,000 votes, MetNews reported. He was re-elected, unopposed, four times.
