Discover Your Inner Economist

Economist Tyler Cowen, who has a blog I haven't read nearly enough but just added to my Google Reader, has written the best of the post-Freakonomics pop-economics books.  I still have 50 pages to go, but I felt inspired to post about it, because it's terrific.  I like these kinds of books.  I've read Steven Landsburg, Tim Harford, Robert Frank, Steven Levitt, and probably a half-dozen others I can't remember.  They're all trying to do pretty much the same thing -- apply economics to the real world in a simple, readable, interesting way.  Most of them are not bad books, but they all blend together in my head, and after I read them I wonder why I bothered.  This one rises above.  That's all.
