On May 29, 2008, Provo Craft & Novelty Inc. recalled about 730,000 Candlsense Warmers after receiving 11 reports of hazardous incidents, including two reports of fires and nine reports of property scorching. The internal heating element on the recalled candle warmer can detach, melting the bottom of its plastic casing, which poses a fire hazard to consumers.

Included in the recall are Candlsense warmers with product codes ranging from YD0629 through YD0652, and YD0701 through YD0708. The recalled warmers are about 4 ¾ inches in diameter, with a black heating plate surrounded by white plastic. The words ?Provo Craft & Novelty Candle Warmer Air Freshener Model: WCY-8888? and the product code are embossed on the bottom of the warmer.

Wal-Mart and other nationwide retailers sold the recalled Candlesense Warmers from August 2006 through October 2007 for between $5 and $10. Consumers are advised to contact Provo Craft at 888-306-0132 to receive a voucher worth 120 percent of the price of the candle warmer.
