Wisconsin 2008 Maximum Wage and Rates

By Michael Progar

ADVERTISEMENTS
The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Division of Worker's Compensation, announced new maximum rates effective January 1, 2008.

The maximum Worker's Compensation rate will be $805 per week for TTD, PTD, and death benefits, for injuries occurring on or after January 1, 2008 and before January 1, 2009. The new average weekly wage used to compute the maximum rate is $1,207.50. The maximum annual wage will be $60,375.00 (weekly wage x 4). As a result, the maximum death benefit for fatal injuries occurring on or after January 1, 2008 (annual rate x 4) increases to $241,500. The maximum weekly indemnity rate for PPD remains at $262.

When the Department of Workforce Development's Division of Vocational Rehabilitation is unable to provide services to eligible injured workers, insurers are required to pay the reasonable and necessary vocational rehabilitation costs, including the costs of services provided by private vocational rehabilitation specialists. The maximum limit for services provided by private vocational rehabilitation specialists increases by 2.3% to $1,392, and the new rate applies regardless of the date of injury.

The maximum wage and rate chart with benefit information for 2008 may be viewed and printed here.
