Chrysler recalls 2007, 2008 Jeep Wranglers due to partial brake system loss risk

Some vehicles may have insufficient clearance between steering shaft, rear brake tubes

On May 13, 2008, Chrysler LLC recalled about 1,600 2007 and 2008 Jeep Wranglers because some vehicles have insufficient clearance between the steering intermediate shaft and the rear brake tubes, which could cause a partial brake system loss over time. This can result in catastrophic injury from a car accident.

To remedy the problem, Chrysler dealers will install a revised brake tube clip, inspect the brake tubes for damage and replace the brake tubes, if necessary.
