One of the reasons given by supporters of the law claims that restaurants are closing because they can't compete with
the trucks. The owner of the taco truck cited last week claims he parked his truck in front of his restaurant in East Los Angeles, the Associated Press reported.
The ordinance, passed by county supervisors last month, raised the penalty from a $60 fine for failing to move every 30 minutes to a fine of up to $1,000 and/or six months in jail.
Taco truck owners told media that they
wouldn't follow the new law.
