By Howard M. Friedman
ADVERTISEMENTS
Canada's Metro News reports that in Iran last week, six Baha'i leaders were arrested and accused of endangering national security. A seventh had been arrested in March. A government spokesman accused them of having "connections with foreigners, especially the Zionists." Yesterday the Baha'i International Community issued a statement accusing Iran of persecuting Baha'is solely because of their faith and denying allegations that any security concerns were involved. On Wednesday, the European Union urged Iran to end its persecution of Baha'is.Full post as published by Religion Clause on May 23, 2008 (boomark / email).
