: A Season of MistsNext-Gen DVD Format Wars Coming to an End?
By Alan
ADVERTISEMENTS
Big news ? Warner (owned by Time Warner) has announced that later this year it's going Blu-ray exclusive. Some are suggesting that this is the deathknell for HD-DVD, the other competing next-gen DVD format. While HD-DVD is far from dead (yet, anyways), I suspect that this announcement will be the (next) nail in the coffin. Personally, I'm happy if Blu-ray wins since PS3's come with a Blu-ray player and I will likely be purchasing a PS3 some time in the next foreseeable future. (I already bought 300 on Blu-ray, as well as on regular DVD.)
