What's up with the drive-by comment?

So a couple of weeks ago I'm walking to class from the T, and as I'm walking I see two guys who were about my age walking in my direction. I hear one say to the other "I love this city!" as they approach, then "see what I mean?" or something like that as we passed each other. I wondered whether he could have been talking about me, but dismissed the thought as quickly as it popped into my head. Until I heard "nice ass!" I turned around to see that they were looking at mine! Well... staring, really. Staring.

Then I was at the mall this weekend. This creepy guy who appeared to be in his 60s passed me and said "very nice!" He then saw me later and actually changed direction in order to pass me again and make the suggestive "uh-huh" noise under his breath. When I saw him for a third time, I just looked at him, shook my head no for several seconds and then rolled my eyes as I looked away. Eeeeeeeew!

Then yesterday as we were leaving school a classmate and I passed a guy who who said "beautiful eyes!" to me under his breath.

One of these days I'm going to ask one of those drive-by guys "Do you ever have the guts to compliment a woman to her face?" Or not. :) Depends on how much guts I have!
