On April 7, 2008, The Boston Beer Company (BBC) recalled certain Samuel Adams beer products after a routine quality control inspection at its distribution center in Cincinnati, Ohio discovered defects in about 25 percent of its total bottle output.
The affected bottles, which are manufactured by third-party supplier Owens-Illinois Glass Works, may have a defect that would cause glass shards to break off into the beer. To identify the bottles with the problem, consumers should look near the bottom rim for the insignia ?N 35? followed by ?OI.?
Consumers who purchased the recalled beer bottles are advised not to drink the beer and contact The Boston Beer Company at 1-888-674-5159 or visit the website.
