In case you were wondering:

We do not answer specific legal questions. We show people how to research their questions, refer them to print and online resources, and in virtually every situations encourage them to speak to an attorney or other specialist (e.g. caseworkers, elected officials, government offices, non-profit service providers, etc.).

Disclaimer: It is against state law for library staff members to engage in any conduct that might constitute the unauthorized practice of law (ORS 9.160, 9.166 and 9.21). They may not interpret statutes, cases or regulations, recommend forms or assist in their preparation, or advise patrons regarding their legal rights. Law library staff members may, however, assist patrons in locating materials or links that would aid in individual research.
