: PrawfsNoah Feldman on Colbert
By Dan Markel, Ethan Leib, Rick Garnett, Matt Bodie, Paul Horwitz , Steve Vladeck, and Orly Lobel
Noah Feldman can officially be recognized as a celebrity law prof. Within the course of one month he was subject to a caustic broadside from Leon Wieseltier in The New Republic and interviewed on the Colbert Report.
The Colbert interview was particularly strange; it seemed to me that Colbert shed his TV persona when talking with Feldman. He was often slipping out of character. I've never seen this happen before and don't know how to explain it. Did Colbert want to be particularly careful when discussing Islam (not that he was)? Or was it something else about the topic? Or something about Feldman? Or was Colbert in shock from Donna Brazille's suggestive comments. Whatever it was, it was a very unusual moment in Colbert history.
