The bombing of the San Diego federal courthouse on Sunday demonstrated the need to tighten security at all courthouses, American Bar Association President William Neukom said in a press release. Courts
serve as "a neutral, safe place to resolve dispute peacefully," said Neukom, making it essential that the people who work their are protected from violent threats and that there is "proper funding for security at
the federal, state and local levels, and improved coordination and
intelligence sharing between court administrators and those agencies
charged with protecting the public safety,"
