: Bowling Green Personal Injury LawyerKentucky Hit and Run Accident Case Leads to Change in the Law
By Daryl Dixon
Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear signed a bill into law that makes it a Felony to Leave the Scene of a Kentucky Hit and Run Injury Accident. Until today it had only been Misdemeanor punishable by up to year in Jail. When this bill takes effect in July 2008 it will be a Class D Felony punishable by up to five years in Prison and up to a $10,000.00 fine.
The bill was in response to the Kentucky Hit and Run Wrongful Death of a fourteen year old boy in Owensboro back in 2006. The most recent publicized case of Kentucky Hit and Run Wrongful Death involved a University of Kentucky Freshman Connie Blount.
I wrote an Article Detailing This Change in Kentucky Hit and Run Law on my DarylTDixonLaw.com website.
