: Peanut Butter BurritoPaper Schadenfreude
By Andrea
So now my 3L paper is now over 33 pages long, and it has 113 footnotes and only 10 of them contain the word "cite" or a question mark, but it's still not done. It's at that annoying stage where you've got 99% of all the content you're going to put in it, but there are still a few sentences that trail off and the most elusive of the sources to find, and you just can't email it in yet if you want to look that professor in the face again, and I do.
I feel like I'm 9 months pregnant with this paper: yes, I love it, it's my baby (it's about detained immigrants, duh), but I want to GET IT OUT so I can move on to the next part of my life. Except this time the next part of my life is writing the 15-20 page housing law paper that's next on my list. Ay.
But the good news is that everyone else seems to be worse off than I am. I mean, damn. I'm a really bad person for deriving any kind of secret relief from this, but think of it this way: they're all going to make it, I'm sure of it, so clearly I am too.
Also, the baby sleeps really nicely these days: except for a 10-minute meal at 4 in the morning, after which she passes back out, she's out from 10 to 8, so I'm a lot farther from a nervous breakdown than I anticipated. In a few weeks, it'll all be over.
