With less than eight (8) hours till deadline, I am finally (relatively) happy with my argument. I am happy because I think I have written it as well as my meager talents will allow.
I am also so tired that I’d probably be happy with anything at this point.
Sadly I am forty-three (43) words over the limit. I have trimmed every “that” “which” “a” “the” I could find. Maybe I’ll just cut out the conclusion. I don’t really need one of those, do I?

The nutty thing is I’ve been “done” with this brief for a good four (4) days. I’ve just been relentlessly editing and “fixing” this whole weekend.
I’m nervous because the word count has caused me to drop a few cases that I think really help the argument.
For my first semester’s first memo, I threw everything in, including the kitchen sink. But I gave the analysis short shrift. So this time I’m trying fewer cases, but more analysis.

….of course with my luck, the notes will say “great analysis, could have gone in less depth with more cases.”
