Who or what is knologies?

By Steve Lombardi

ADVERTISEMENTS

I've become familiar with someone or something going by the name of "knologies". Not because I want to become familiar but because I have to become familiar. I'm tracking his postings and he is obviously tracking mine. So why are we playing this cat and mouse game?

I'm motivated because some of these postings are identical to what I've written weeks ago and recently posted online. In other words knologies is plagiarizing my posts. Knologies is copying my posts word for word. They seem to always be "dated" one day before the date I post my own.

So who or what is knologies? Knologies posts about "personal injury" (www.injurysite.com) and about education (www.ya-edu.com) along with medical news (www.vivantmedical.com). He uses my posts to refer to LegalMatch.com. This site tries to match clients with the right lawyer. I filled out the form asking to be matched with an intellectual property lawyer who would sue LegalMatch.com, but so far they have not provided a lawyer's name. Anna Ostrovsky, the General Counsel for LegalMatch wrote back disavowing knowledge. I provided her with the links so let's see if today she can shed light on the identity of knologies. I'm not sure but this may be an unfair trades practice in California, the home base for LegalMatch.

Here is an example of this out right plagiarism. In a post dated April 14, 2008 by knologies the Personal Injury Lawyer Blog runs this post: Cell Phones: What to Do In Case of an Accident. On April 15, 2008 I posted the exact same article on the Injuryboard.com. Of course he doesn't know it but my posts are on a schedule. This post was written on March 5, 2008 and scheduled to post on April 15, 2008. This is only one example. I have others.

So here is what I want to know about knologies. Who is behind the moniker and posts? What is their mailing address where service of process can be made? Who else are they plagiarizing?
