Jaramillo disbarred

Former Orange County assistant sheriff George Jaramillo was was disbarred, the Orange County Register reported.

The state Supreme Court denied the Jaramillo the option to resign. In 2007, he completed a one year sentence for perjury and misuse of public funds and secretly plead guilty to federal tax evasion and mail fraud.

Jaramillo cooperated with the FBI investigation into former O.C. sheriff Mike Carona and is schedule to sentenced in that case in June.
