This new website is up for those of you aspiring to federal clerkships. I definitely recommend the experience if you're considering it.The WSJ Law Blog interviewed the founder of the website, Ellen Carey, who's now clerking in Northern Michigan, according to her statements in the interview. Prior to clerking in Michigan, she also clerked for a magistrate judge in Puerto Rico, and a District Judge in Charleston, West Virginia.
It looks like the blog may have some helpful tips for applicants.
But there was one strange part of the WSJ blog piece:
[W]e called on Ellen Carey, the creator of the site, to get the low-down.Carey (Umass, Suffolk law, and NOT pictured ? that?s just a shot from her Web site), a 32-year-old clerking veteran, spoke to the Law Blog about the clerkship application process, the importance of keeping an open mind and her new site.
The woman pictured on her website is good looking, sure, but not necessarily drop-dead gorgeous. Still, the WSJ makes a big deal emphasizing that Ellen Carey is NOT the girl pictured on her web site. Like, DO NOT confuse Ms. Carey with the hot hottie pictured on the site.
Don't let the WSJ's implication that Ellen Carey is a molewoman stop you from visiting her site and gaining the value of her info and advice.
