DeFusco's Bakery Salmonella Outbreak Hits 43 with 24 Hospitalized and 1 Death

The number of suspected cases of salmonella linked to a Rhode Island bakery has increased to 43 people, the Health Department reported Wednesday. Health officials said 22 of those people have been hospitalized. Earlier, health officials reported that 24 people had been hospitalized. However two patients at a hospital emergency room were never admitted. Of the 43 cases, 42 were from Rhode Island and 1 was from Massachusetts.
