: A Public Defender's Life in Alaska

So, it's time to face it. I'm just not a happy man anymore. It's the oddest thing. It's not just that it's March. There are a number of reasons. Pretty much everyone has noticed it. I got a call from a Probation Officer the other day. Just to ask how I was and to say they were worried about me. That I wasn't the same the last six months. So why would I write this in a public forum? I suppose to give me the courage to fix the things I can fix. I have always been the person who is the whirlwind of energy. I cannot control everything in my life. But I can control some things. I am responsible for my own happiness and the happiness of my family. I'm not a huge Eminem fan. But he has this song "Not Afraid". It really speaks to me. "Cause I ain't playin around.....it's time to exorcise these demons...these motherfu^^%s are doing jumping jacks now". And relax. For those of you who know me, some of you know what I am thinking. But for you that don't, it's not what you think. In fact, there are only two people on Earth who know exactly what I am thinking and why. I suspect that the rest of you will be surprised over the next year. Hell I know I will be. I feel the passing of time as keenly as a knife blade.
