CHASE LAW: Chase National Trial Team Semifinalists in AAJ Trial Advocacy Competition

By Michael Stevens

ADVERTISEMENTS

Mar 20, 2008 - Congratulations to Chase National Trial Team members David Curlin, Kris Ellena, Tyler Fields, Patrick Healy, Lindsay Lawrence, Megan Mersch, Wil Schroder, and Ian Stegmaier, who advanced to the semifinal round of the AAJ Trial Advocacy Competition (Southern Region), ranking third after the preliminary rounds. The competition was held March 7-9 in Memphis, Tennessee. Though Chase ultimately succumbed to Chapel Hill in the semifinals, our team was ranked second after the preliminary rounds. Our team lost only to the #1 and #2 teams.

Chase students performed impressively, beating Campbell, North Carolina Central, Nashville, and Florida. Other schools competing included Duke, University of Miami, Arkansas (past regional champs), Tennessee, and Wake Forest.

Special thanks to the adjunct coaches who helped: Ray Atkinson, Jenn Lawrence, and Richard Smith-Monahan.
