How to force a home contractor to complete a job they have been fully paid for?

I recently had wood floors installed. The sales manager said he would not charge the balance until the work was done and I was satisfied. Well, they messed up the entryway of one of the rooms and also charged my card for the balance. The installer, who said he guarentees his work, said the only way he can fix it is by short-cutting and thus not giving me the floor I originally wanted. Now they are stalling and since they have my money. I feel they don't care anymore. Any advice?
