A registrar is an official keeper of records, and may refer to:

In education:

  • Registrar (academic), an official who handles student records

In civil government:

  • Registrar General, responsible for the registration of births, deaths and marriages in England and Wales
  • Registrar General of Canada, responsible for registering all documents issued under the Great Seal of Canada
  • Registrar of Companies, for England, Wales & Scotland, deals with all document filings relating to the 1985 Companies Act
  • Recorder of deeds, the government office tasked with maintaining a record of real estate ownership

In church government:
