Canadian food agency recalls Diffusion TGV dry sausage because of salmonella risk

On February 23, 2008, Diffusion T.G.V. Inc. recalled its Maison de Savoie brand Sarment courbe (Pure pork dry sausage) products after finding they may be contaminated with salmonella. Customers who consume the recalled sausage risk a foodborne illness from salmonella.
The recalled Maison de Savoie brand pure pork dry sausage was sold in 250-gram packages with a lot code of 02 51 29, and a ?best before? date of April 13, 2008.
In healthy consumers, salmonellosis may cause the following symptoms:
- High fever
- Severe headache
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Nausea
- Abdominal pain
Young children, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems who are exposed to salmonella may face potentially fatal infections.
